Inspired by Mark Dorf's work in the virtual gallery space, Panther Modern , I created my own virtual space using 3D modeling. I created three sculptural pieces inspired by the Untitled physical sculpture and placed them in a gallery setting. I wanted a foreboding feeling, so I used a black environment with upward lighting for each bust. Each model has its own association based on the elements I added to the bust. One model is a variation of the life sculpture with the nails placed asymmetrically on the eyes and lips as it symbolizes pain. The model with emerging crystal-like forms made with a jade material, symbolizes protection. The gold model made with antlers that rise from the face and the skull is associated with power. Together, the three sculptures form pain, power, and protection.
